Microsoft has announced its new Halo 3 themed Xbox 360 console. It doesn’t do anything out of the ordinary from the original Xbox 360, except express the excitement, dedication, and affection that one feels when one’s thoughts are consumed by one’s favorite video game. The console comes with 20 gigs of memory, play & charge kit, and matching green and yellow Halo 3 Special Edition headset and wireless controller. Game not included. The console will begin shipping in September and is priced at $350-560. Happy gaming!

While Sony is offering price reductions on its PS3 system, it continues to sell the PS2, now updated with a weight reduction, new components, and probably, less shipping charges.

A new US study states that boys and girls who play video games on school days do less homework and reading than those who do not play the games. (Did we really need a study to tell us that?)

Boys average 30% and girls spend 34% less time studying.

Another chintzy plastic Wiimote accessory, this pool cue add-on doesn’t seem to have gamers jumping for joy. For $13 (from Hong Kong) it might make a nice birthday present for a 5-year old though.
