Fujitsu Lifebook U1010 Ultra Mobile PC – It’s so TINY!

Fujitsu continues to release small devices that are attractive to anyone with very good eyes and relatively small hands. The U1010 UMPC is no different. 800MHz Intel processor, 5.6 inch touch screen, up to 6 hours of battery life, Tablet PC functionality, 1GB of RAM, and 40GB HDD make this a decent enough performer. Bluetooth and Wi-Fi make it a good communicator. It’s only in Asia at the moment, but hopefully Fujitsu will ship it over.

Pretty Pretty Waterproof Phone

NTT DoCoMo and Fujitsu announce the new F704i. Add-ons include 2.2-inch QVGA LCD display, a 1.3 Megapixel camera, a 0.1 Megapixel secondary camera, support for WMA playback and the ‘Napster To Go’ service.
The most interesting feature includes the waterproof frame, which is resistant to a depth of 1m for up to 30 minutes. So, if you ever accidentally dropped your cell phone into the harbor, as I’m sure most of you have, never fear, it will still be working when you get it back.

Fujitsu’s Morphing LiberTouch Keyboard

The keys can be easily remove and rearranged, and offer variable resistance. What more can one ask for in a keyboard? This could be particularly valuable if they produce multiple languages. My Russian wife would kill for one of these, if they offer Cyrillic. No word on pricing or availability, but I’ll be keeping my eye out.

Fujitsu’s 300GB Pocket Drive

Fujitsu has a new line of pocket drives with its 300GB 2.5-inch USB-powered 4200rpm drive. Expected to sell at about $229, look for it this Fall.

Fujitsu T8140 Elicits Pavlovian Reaction in Tablet PC Lovers
![]()
This may never make it to the US, but if it does, Tablet PC users will certainly rejoice. Solid-state disk, 11-hour battery life (over 7 with the standard battery), just over 3 pounds, and Intel graphics that can run Vista Aero–those are heavenly stats that Tablet lovers dream about. Even I’m already salivating, and that’s at a conversion price of $2,650 that I most definitely could not afford.
