Canon EOS 5D Mark II Displays Multiple Battery Capacities

The Canon EOS 5D Mark II camera is being hailed as the first DSLR able to manage multiple batteries. The camera includes technology to read up to six separate LP-E6 batteries. The LCD will will display data about each battery whenever you like.

New Macbook Pro battery has less juice than old one

File this in the “not how things usually go” department. It seems the rechargeable battery in the new Macbook Pro has sixteen percent less battery power than it’s older, clunkier cousin.

150 MPG for the Prius

Over at the Clean Vehicle Technology Expo in Ontario, California is Hymotion’s modified Prius that can actually get 150MPG in city areas. Of course it adds a 175 pound battery pack in the trunk and gas will have to go up a lot more to justify the price of an additional $9,500 for this aftermarket [...]

Exploding Battery Injures Woman

Nokia and Matsushita are already dealing with a 46 million handset battery recall and now a battery NOT on the recall list exploded injuring a pregnant woman in India.
The 30-year old victim will supposedly be compensated.

Verizon’s USB EV-DO Modem Almost Available

Now, personally, I wonder a bit at the usefulness of a USB wireless broadband solution. I see the entire purpose of solutions such as Verizon’s implementation of EV-DO to be portable, meaning either integrated in a notebook or at worse add via PC Card or ExpressCard.

According to unproven sources, it seems that the specs on the Asus Eee PC keep getting more and more detailed (or maybe "accurate" is a better word). So far, looks like there will be two models, with prices ranging from $269 on the low-end model and $399 on the high-end. Specs follow:
