Mid-Air Cell / Internet

A Swiss tech firm OnAir will be setting up service to allow airline passengers to use their cell phones and access the Internet on laptops during flights.
China’s Shenzhen Airlines will set up the service by mid-2009 and hope to have a demo aircraft available for the Beijing Olympics next year.

Boeing’s X-Planes

This X-48B is Boeing’s Blended Wing Body prototype flew for the first time at Edwards Air Force Base in California. It was "remotely piloted from a ground control station in which the pilot uses conventional aircraft controls and instrumentation while looking at a monitor fed by a forward-looking camera on the aircraft."
