splicd-for-youtube Splicd Splits YouTube Video into Viewable Parts

Splicd has released a service that allows YouTube videos to be spliced into the desired start and stop times, just like real video editing software. Normally you would embed a video, and tell the reader to fast forward to a mark in the video like 2:32. With Splicd you can edit the YouTube video on their site, then provide the reader with a link to the same video, but when the reader sees the spliced video, it will start at the mark you want it to start at. This might be useful for really lazy readers. I didn’t see the option to embed the edited video into your own site, and that might be desirable, but it appears Splitcd only makes money from ads when readers go to their web site, so it doesn’t appear the embed option will ever be added.

Update: It appears there is a way to embed Splicd videos into your blog. Click here for the directions. Thanks Andrew.
