Sony apologizes for virtual cathedral shootout

Sony’s Playstation 3 game, Resistance: Fall of Man, features a gunbattle between a soldier and aliens in a cathedral resembling the Manchester Cathedral in northern England, much to the chagrin of the Church of England. The Church demanded that the game be taken off the market and a donation be made to the church’s education department (which ironically fights gun violence in Manchester). Sony’s response was a "Sorry for desecrating your church with a bloody interspecies battle that’s NOT REAL," which is apparently not enough for church leaders. But if the good guys win inside the church, isn’t that pretty good PR for God? My advice to Sony: change the aliens to demons and outfit the soldiers with cassocks and you’ve got it MADE.
