Piaggio to be First to Mass Produce Plug-in Hybrid

As a driver of the much loved Toyota Prius hybrid, I am eagerly awaiting the plug-in hybrid movement. It seems though that a company named Piaggio may be the first on the block with their plug-in hybrid motorized "tricycle."

The MP3 Scooter is promised to roll off the production line sometime next year, beating other companies, like Toyota and Chevy, to the punch.

The MP3 Scooter drives like a backwards tricycle with two wheels in the front. It will get somewhere around 140 miles per gallon and be capable of reaching speeds of 60 mph in 5 seconds. No word on pricing but definitely get your crash helmets ready.
