Large Hadron Collider has $21 Million Faulty Joint

Those of you that were scared that the Large Hadron Collider was going to destroy the world can rest assured until summer ’09 because of repairs. The $10 billion dollar "apocalypse" experiment was shut down last month, 9 days after it started. Apparently the experiment was delayed by a single fault sauter joint. Repairs are estimated to cost at least $21 million.
The European Organization for Nuclear Research is now estimating to restart the experiment the end of June 2009.
