Fujitsu Installs Mother of All Fuel Cells

In its on-going quest for fame and glory, Fujitsu has installed a fuel-cell (specifically, a proton exchange membrane, or PEM, fuel cell, which sounds way cool) at its Sunnyvale, CA campus. The monster fuel cell generates 200 kw of power, enough to provide for half of the compound’s data center’s cooling needs. Eventually, the unit will also provide heat, at up to 85% efficiency (compared to normal systems that only achieve 50%).
