Thanks for the info.  I can tell you why someone would want to disable tabs...they&#039;re far more confusing than those windows in the taskbar.  

When you have multiple tabs open, each has an &quot;x&quot; on the right side for closing.  Additionally, the rightmost tab has a &quot;+&quot; next to the &quot;x&quot; that you can click for a new tab.  Of all the labels they could have chosen, they had to pick two that are nearly identical and put them side by side.  I&#039;ve lost count of the number of times I&#039;ve clicked the &quot;x&quot; by mistake, closing the page I was working on by accident. 

I HATE tabs.  They are the worst aspect of Firefox.  Thanks for the info on the plugin that gets rid of them.</description>
