Computer Interface for the Brain to Control Computers

    Share

An emerging technology that allows electrical impulses from brain neurons to send signals to a computer is getting a lot better. 60 Minutes showed how the technology can now be used to control computers to do things we take for granted, like write things like Word documents, emails, and text messages, click on things, and control things on the computer, like we do with a mouse and keyboard. The technology can also allow movement of artificial limbs. Another technology that wasn’t shown in this video is an implanted chip in the brain that allows a person who is blind to see images, which are more like an outline, but still give those who previously had sight enough of an image for them to recognize what the image is.
