Backup the Numbers on Your Cell Phone
I got an email from a buddy of mine today explaining his month-and-a-half long absence. "I lost all the numbers in my phone!" he explained. Or, was it, "I lost my phone!" No matter. People do funny things with cell phones, like drop them in toilets and pitchers of beer (see this article). Or, nearly fall over Niagara Falls trying to retrieve a dropped phone. I’m guessing it was a prototype iPhone.
There are a few options when it comes to backing up phone data. Several wireless carriers offer the service, and there are third-party providers, too. Our phones carry important information and should be backup like our computers. You DO backup your computer, right?
OK, so it happens. You lose your phone or it gets fried as you unwittingly enter an intense electrostatic field. Be creative about getting those numbers back. I happen to have a web site which has my number all over it. Think of it as an online backup copy that I’ve conveniently provided for you. Emails I send have a signature that includes my number. Why not dig up an old email from me in your deleted folder?
Just a couple ideas, because Paris Hilton says being dumb just isn’t cool anymore.
