$200 Eee PC 2nd Gen in April

Asustek Computer (ASUS) wants to become one of the top five suppliers in the notebook brand market within three years, according to general president Jerry Shen. 200,000-300,000 Eee PCs are expected to ship by the end of this year and the figure for next year will expand to more than three million units at least.
This second-generation Eee PC due for April 2008, will feature Intel’s Merom processors and will reduce power consumption from 11W TDP to 7W TDP and might mean eliminating the fan entirely.
The Eee PC aims to make computing affordable for everyone, the first models being a $199 version using a 4GB flash hard drive and another $299 version using a 8GB drive.
